8 April, 2018 is a special date for me. On this day, I started my miniature journey.
I have bachelor’ s degree in Electronics and work as a software professional in an IT Industry. At that time, I wasn’t aware of a word 'Miniature' and how it was discovered.
One day, I was watching some art videos on YouTube and one video popped up on my home page. It was Square to Square's guitar video. I was amazed by how beautifully she had created that guitar. The moment I saw it’s making process, I fell in love with miniature art and decided to make my own miniatures.
I couldn’t stop thinking about miniatures and started doing my research. At that moment, lot of questions arose in my mind...
Were there any Miniaturists in India? Which style should I choose? Where should I get the materials? Would I be able to balance my professional and miniature art life? What would be my page name? and so on.....
I was serving a notice period when I came to know about Miniature art form. After joining a new company, I immediately bought some materials for making miniatures. I was still thinking about my page name and miniature work to start off.
While attending induction day of my new company, I came up with name ”Me&Miniatures". Yes... Initially I thought of keeping' &' in my username. But Instagram wasn’t allowing me to use it.. So, I changed it to "Meandminiatures".
Next step was to find an inspiration to make my first miniature. I found it in YouTube series " Asian paints presents where the heart is.." An episode was featuring Bollywood Actresses Radhika Apte’'s house. I loved her grandmother’s chair and decided to make it as my first miniature work.
I wanted to showcase my art form to the people and help others who had discovered this art form and we’re willing to learn about it. I will be posting it on my blog and also sharing in it some tutorials for you.
I hope my blog will help you.❤️
